To be fair, not every song in your collection will be in Foobar and be able to be played with Matroska support. Since the plug-in needs the audio info and format info from the song, and only Matroska contains that info, it makes sense that it can only work on songs that were created with a Matroska file.

The plug-in also needs access to the appropriate playback plugins to be able to decode the information and then to be able to show that information to the user. Other formats contain that information but don’t actually contain a way to view those formats.
