Plot

In fact, Franco is her brother, but he doesn’t know it. Both of them start a relationship and get married. At the same time, Simona, in spite of being old enough to be Veronica’s mother, falls in love with Franco, too, and they become engaged. They try to elope at the dawn, but are stopped by Zio Andrea, who is a widower and never married.

Why Does My Perimeter Measurement Ignore My Shadow?

I am writing a basic shape detection program. Right now, I have my objects determined by a zero threshold, a 50 pixel threshold for the largest object, and a minimum distance of 20 from other objects. Everything works as expected except for when the shadow of a large object is more than 50 pixels long. When the shadow passes the 50 pixel threshold, my program fails to detect the object.
Any ideas on how I might be able to get around this? I have the original object and the shadow. Thanks!

The images below should give you an idea of what the problem is. The second image is what’s wrong, the first is what’s right.

Using the small objects, you can get away with ignoring shadows. The problem will come up when your biggest object has a shadow that is greater than 50 pixels.
The problem here is the size of the largest object (16 pixels) is greater
